The view above shows the breakfast room table that is just
off of the kitchen. You can see the enclosed porch just
beyond with the Dining Room table.
It really didn't take very long to tweak this space and
give the Porch a bit of "umph." Just a few pieces of
furniture moved around. I "borrowed" the large green
rug from under the breakfast room table, and changed
the positioning of the larger table.
All in all....it only took me about an hour...
The "After"...
I pulled the love seat out from the wall, and surrounded it with bamboo chairs to create a smaller, but welcoming sitting area.
This is the first area you see upon coming through the front
door of the Cottage.
I added a piece of glass to this shabby chic table to create a coffee table. It was being used as a side table. It's filled with shells and beach glass.
A vintage, metal cooler makes the perfect little table between two mix-matched armed chairs.
Simple and easy decorating....my kind of projects. :)

What a great transformation, Barb. It does look more welcoming and homey, that is for sure. :-) It's always more fun to use what we have at hand to transform and re-use.

Not that it was bad before, but it's SO MUCH better now!! Putting the glass over that little table was a great idea! It was really calling for that. Now it's very warm welcoming and casual chic. Great job girl! I wish you could come to my house. I could use some fresh ideas. You know how that is? I can come up with a million for everybody elses house, but it's so hard with my own! Vanna

Barb, this series has been such fun. Hard to say, but I THINK the porch might be my favorite. It is so bright and happy. I love those yellow and white lampshades and love the floral fabric on the little love seat.

Love that vintage furniture! Great redo with a mix of styles which is exactly my dilemma right now although I have really modern thrown in architecturally.
What a beautiful porch! I can sit there and enjoy it for hours...but only when it gets warmer. It was -5 here this morning in Pa.
